Mylar bags are considered one of the most secure methods for food preservation on a long-term basis.
The zip lock function allows for easy access and re-sealing for repeated use after long term storage. Â It also assists with easier filling and sealing of the bags.
Mylar bags can be heat-sealed at the top behind the zip lock, for long term storage or zip locked only for short term storage.
These bags are re-usable.
Mylar bags protect against air leakages, moisture, light, odours and insects. Though they are highly puncture-proof, they are not resistant against rodents.
Some are of the opinion that the aluminium foil covering of mylar bags can dramatically reduce the amount of EMF radiation (emitted magnetic fields) and will shield against most wavelength radio frequency radiation.

Oxygen absorbers are a novelty in South Africa and are quite pricey to import.
Oxygen absorbers currently available in South Africa are packed in bulk for example 100 or 200 in a pack, which means they start oxidising once they are opened and have to be re-sealed quickly in order not to lose their functionality.
Our oxygen absorbers - though it cost more to order - are packed in smaller quantities of 10 in a packet and not in bulk. This ensures that the oxygen absorbers are kept fresher for longer. The longer the oxygen absorber is out, the quicker it goes off. Smaller quantities will enable the user to quickly take out what is needed and re-seal the rest.
Based in Vanderbijlpark, we supply throughout South Africa via courier. For this a local courier and packaging fee of R150 is charged.
